Frog Companion is built so that your data stays with you. We do not collect, store or share personal data, we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
What happens on your device
- There is no account and no server of ours: the app talks only to the Mac you paired, directly over your local Wi-Fi network or over Bluetooth when the two are nearby. Nothing goes through the internet or to us.
- Everything sent between your phone and your Mac, such as clipboard text, images and files, is end-to-end encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with keys from the pairing. The pairing key is stored only on your phone, protected by Android's Keystore, and on your Mac.
- The camera is used only to scan the pairing code that Frog shows on your Mac. No image is stored or sent.
- The app reads the clipboard only when you tap Send to Mac, in the app, the notification, the Quick Settings tile or the share sheet, and writes to it what your Mac sends.
- The app keeps a list of your last 50 sent and received items on your phone, so you can copy them again; unpairing clears it.
- Files you share go only to your Mac. Files your Mac sends are saved to Downloads on your phone.
- Notifications are local. While the phone is paired, a foreground service keeps the connection to your Mac, and it can start when the phone starts.
- The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
- Unpairing or deleting the app removes the pairing from your phone; we hold no copy.
Google Play
The app is free and has no purchases. Google Play delivers it; we never see your name or your Google Account. Google gives us anonymous, aggregated figures about installs. If you allow it on your phone (usage and diagnostics), Google also shares crash reports and performance data with us through Android vitals. None of this identifies you.
Your data and how to delete it
Everything the app stores stays on your phone. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to export or delete. To remove all of it, delete the app. The app's data is left out of Android backups.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Was auf deinem Gerät passiert
- Es gibt kein Konto und keinen Server von uns: Die App spricht nur mit dem Mac, den du gekoppelt hast, direkt über dein lokales WLAN oder über Bluetooth, wenn beide in der Nähe sind. Nichts geht über das Internet oder an uns.
- Alles, was zwischen Smartphone und Mac gesendet wird, etwa Text aus der Zwischenablage, Bilder und Dateien, ist mit AES-256-GCM Ende-zu-Ende-verschlüsselt, mit Schlüsseln aus der Kopplung. Der Kopplungsschlüssel liegt nur auf deinem Smartphone, geschützt durch den Keystore von Android, und auf deinem Mac.
- Die Kamera dient nur dazu, den Kopplungscode zu scannen, den Frog auf deinem Mac zeigt. Es wird kein Bild gespeichert oder gesendet.
- Die App liest die Zwischenablage nur, wenn du „Send to Mac“ antippst, in der App, der Benachrichtigung, der Kachel in den Schnelleinstellungen oder über Teilen, und schreibt hinein, was dein Mac sendet.
- Die App hält eine Liste deiner letzten 50 gesendeten und empfangenen Einträge auf deinem Smartphone, damit du sie erneut kopieren kannst; Entkoppeln leert sie.
- Dateien, die du teilst, gehen nur an deinen Mac. Dateien von deinem Mac werden auf dem Smartphone in Downloads gespeichert.
- Benachrichtigungen sind lokal. Solange das Smartphone gekoppelt ist, hält ein Vordergrunddienst die Verbindung zu deinem Mac, und er kann beim Start des Smartphones starten.
- Die App enthält keinen Code für Analyse, Werbung oder Tracking.
- Entkoppeln oder Löschen der App entfernt die Kopplung von deinem Smartphone; wir haben keine Kopie.
Google Play
Die App ist kostenlos und hat keine Käufe. Google Play liefert sie aus; wir sehen weder deinen Namen noch dein Google-Konto. Google stellt uns anonyme, zusammengefasste Zahlen zu Installationen bereit. Wenn du es auf deinem Smartphone erlaubst (Nutzung und Diagnose), teilt Google zusätzlich Absturzberichte und Leistungsdaten über Android Vitals mit uns. Nichts davon lässt Rückschlüsse auf deine Person zu.
Deine Daten löschen
Alles, was die App speichert, bleibt auf deinem Smartphone. Wir haben keine Kopie, deshalb können wir nichts herausgeben oder löschen. Um alles zu entfernen, lösche die App. Android-Sicherungen enthalten die Daten der App nicht.
Kinder
Die App erhebt wissentlich von niemandem Daten, auch nicht von Kindern.
