Yappa is built so that your data stays with you. We do not collect, store or share personal data, we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
What happens on your device
- Recordings, transcripts, notes, tasks and journal entries are stored only on this iPhone: your library is a folder of Markdown files with its recordings, which you can open in the Files app.
- Speech recognition and writing run on this iPhone, with Apple's on-device speech recognition and Apple Intelligence or with open models you download; Yappa sends no recording or text to us or anyone else.
- Open models download from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) only when you tap Download; like any download, that server sees your IP address, but no recording or text is ever sent.
- To recognize your language, iOS may download Apple's speech recognition files from Apple.
- The microphone is on only while you record or dictate.
- Due-day reminders and the note that a recording is ready are local notifications that this iPhone schedules itself.
- Widgets show your open tasks, latest notes and journal days from a small summary that Yappa keeps in its shared container on this iPhone, outside your backups.
- Your notes and recordings stay out of your iPhone's iCloud or computer backup unless you turn on Include in iPhone backup in Yappa's settings; downloaded models are never backed up.
- Yappa exports your library or settings only when you choose to, to the place you pick.
Purchases and Apple
Purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your name, your Apple Account or your payment details. Apple gives us anonymous, aggregated figures about downloads and sales. If you allow it in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers), Apple also shares crash reports and usage statistics with us. None of this identifies you.
Apple Intelligence
Where the app uses Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device foundation model processes the text on your iPhone. The app does not use Apple's Private Cloud Compute, so nothing is sent to Apple's servers for it.
Your data and how to delete it
Everything the app stores stays on your iPhone. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to export or delete. To remove all of it, delete the app. Backups of your iPhone in iCloud or on a computer can contain the app's data until they are replaced.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Was auf deinem Gerät passiert
- Aufnahmen, Transkripte, Notizen, Aufgaben und Tagebucheinträge werden nur auf diesem iPhone gespeichert: Deine Bibliothek ist ein Ordner mit Markdown-Dateien und deinen Aufnahmen, den du in der Dateien-App öffnen kannst.
- Spracherkennung und Schreiben laufen auf diesem iPhone, mit Apples Spracherkennung auf dem Gerät und Apple Intelligence oder mit offenen Modellen, die du lädst; Yappa sendet keine Aufnahme und keinen Text an uns oder an andere.
- Offene Modelle kommen von Hugging Face (huggingface.co), und zwar nur, wenn du den Download antippst; wie bei jedem Download sieht dieser Server deine IP-Adresse, aber es wird nie eine Aufnahme oder ein Text gesendet.
- Damit deine Sprache erkannt wird, lädt iOS unter Umständen Apples Spracherkennungsdateien von Apple.
- Das Mikrofon ist nur an, während du aufnimmst oder diktierst.
- Erinnerungen an fällige Aufgaben und der Hinweis, dass eine Aufnahme fertig ist, sind lokale Mitteilungen, die dieses iPhone selbst plant.
- Widgets zeigen deine offenen Aufgaben, die neuesten Notizen und deine Tagebuchtage aus einer kleinen Zusammenfassung, die Yappa im gemeinsamen Container auf diesem iPhone ablegt, außerhalb deiner Backups.
- Notizen und Aufnahmen bleiben aus dem iCloud- oder Computer-Backup deines iPhones heraus, bis du in Yappas Einstellungen das iPhone-Backup für deine Bibliothek einschaltest; geladene Modelle werden nie gesichert.
- Yappa exportiert deine Bibliothek oder Einstellungen nur, wenn du es möchtest, und nur dorthin, wo du es auswählst.
Käufe und Apple
Käufe wickelt Apple ab. Wir sehen weder deinen Namen noch deinen Apple Account oder deine Zahlungsdaten. Apple stellt uns anonyme, zusammengefasste Zahlen zu Downloads und Verkäufen bereit. Wenn du es in den iOS-Einstellungen erlaubst (Datenschutz & Sicherheit → Analyse & Verbesserungen → Mit App-Entwicklern teilen), teilt Apple zusätzlich Absturzberichte und Nutzungsstatistiken mit uns. Nichts davon lässt Rückschlüsse auf deine Person zu.
Apple Intelligence
Wo die App Apple Intelligence nutzt, verarbeitet Apples On-Device-Sprachmodell den Text auf deinem iPhone. Apples Private Cloud Compute nutzt die App nicht, dafür wird also nichts an Apples Server gesendet.
Deine Daten löschen
Alles, was die App speichert, bleibt auf deinem iPhone. Wir haben keine Kopie, deshalb können wir nichts herausgeben oder löschen. Um alles zu entfernen, lösche die App. Sicherungen deines iPhones in iCloud oder auf einem Computer können die Daten der App enthalten, bis sie ersetzt werden.
Kinder
Die App erhebt wissentlich von niemandem Daten, auch nicht von Kindern.
